Community Guidelines
Last updated: 24 October 2026
whatamobile works because buyers and sellers can trust each other. These guidelines apply to everything on the marketplace: ads, chats, profiles, shop pages and reviews. Breaking them can get content removed and accounts suspended or closed.
Be honest
- Describe devices as they are, faults included. Use your own photos of the device you are selling.
- Only sell what you own. Stolen, blocked, counterfeit and instalment-financed devices are not allowed.
- Don't pretend to be someone else, another business or whatamobile staff.
- Don't create fake ads, fake accounts or fake reviews, and don't pay for or swap reviews.
Be respectful
- No abuse, threats, harassment, hate speech or sexual content, in chats, ads or reviews.
- No discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, gender, disability or any other personal trait.
- If you are no longer interested in a deal, say so politely and move on.
Keep it safe
- Never ask for or send advance payments, deposits or "booking" fees.
- Never ask anyone for a sign-in code (OTP). Asking for one is a scam.
- Don't send links that lead away from whatamobile to collect payment or personal details.
- Meet in busy public places. Check the device, and its IMEI with PTA by SMS to 8484, before you pay.
Respect privacy
- Don't share other people's phone numbers, addresses, CNIC or photos without their permission.
- Don't put phone numbers, links or personal details in reviews.
- Use contact details you receive only to discuss the ad.
Reviews
- Only buyers and sellers from completed trades can review each other.
- Keep reviews about the trade: the device, communication, punctuality and payment.
- Sellers can reply once, publicly. Keep replies factual and polite.
- We remove reviews that break these rules. We don't remove reviews just because they are negative.
Report problems
Use Report on any ad, profile or review, or block a user from the chat. Reports are anonymous. Our team reviews every report and acts on anything that breaks these guidelines or our Terms of Use. In an emergency, or if you have been robbed or defrauded, contact the police first.
