Terms of Use
Last updated: 24 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the whatamobile app and the marketplace on whatamobile.com to buy or sell used phones, tablets, watches and accessories. By creating an account or posting an ad you agree to them, to our Community Guidelines, our Posting rules and our Privacy notice.
1. What whatamobile is
whatamobile is a classifieds marketplace. We let sellers list devices and help buyers find them and get in touch. We are not a party to any sale. We don't hold payments, offer escrow, deliver devices or take trade-ins. Buyers and sellers agree the price, inspect the device and complete the trade between themselves.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- You sign up with a Pakistani mobile number that has WhatsApp. We send a 6-digit code on WhatsApp to confirm it is yours. Existing whatamobile.com customers can sign in with their email and password.
- Keep your number and password to yourself. Never share a sign-in code with anyone, including people claiming to be from whatamobile. We will never ask you for one.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts to get around a suspension.
3. Posting ads
- You may only sell devices that you own and have the right to sell. Stolen, blocked, counterfeit or instalment-financed devices are not allowed.
- Ads must describe the device honestly, including its condition, faults, storage, PTA status and any accessories, and use real photos of the device being sold.
- For phones you give the IMEI. It is not shown publicly; we use it to stop the same device being listed twice and to help keep stolen devices off the marketplace.
- Every new ad, and every new photo, is reviewed before it goes live. We may refuse, send back or remove an ad that breaks our Posting rules.
- Ads stay live for 30 days and can be renewed for free. Mark an ad as sold once the device has gone.
- Posting an ad is free. Paid plans for shops are offered on the website only.
4. Contacting other users
Buyers can reach sellers through in-app chat, by phone or on WhatsApp, depending on what the seller allows. Your number stays hidden unless you choose to show it on an ad, and you can hide it again at any time. Use contact details only to discuss the ad. Don't send spam, advertising or abuse.
5. Trades and safety
- Meet in a busy public place, check the device in person and pay only when you are satisfied. Never pay in advance.
- Before you buy a phone, check its IMEI with PTA DIRBS by sending it by SMS to 8484.
- whatamobile does not inspect devices or check the people you meet and cannot guarantee any trade. Any problem with a sale is between the buyer and the seller, but please report fraud to us and to the police.
6. Reviews
After a device is marked as sold, the buyer and seller can review each other. Reviews stay sealed until both have reviewed or 14 days have passed. Reviews must be honest, about the trade and follow our Community Guidelines. We remove reviews that break the rules. We don't remove reviews just because they are negative.
7. Shops
Businesses can apply to open a shop. Applications are reviewed by hand. A shop may have up to 3 branches. Shops must follow these terms and are responsible for the devices they sell.
8. Content you post
You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You allow whatamobile to host, display, resize and share that content across the app, the website and our marketing for as long as it is on the marketplace, and to keep copies where the law requires. Don't post content you don't have the right to use.
9. What we may do
To keep the marketplace safe we may review, edit the category of, hide or remove ads, reviews and messages reported to us; limit, suspend or close accounts that break these terms; and share information with the authorities where the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the app at any time. Your active ads are removed straight away and your account is deleted after 14 days, unless you sign in again during that time to cancel. Some records are kept as described in our Privacy notice.
11. Liability
The marketplace is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, whatamobile is not liable for the devices listed, the conduct of users, the outcome of any trade, or loss caused by interruptions to the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law of Pakistan that cannot be excluded.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use whatamobile after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Questions or complaints? Use our contact form.
